๐ŸŽค How Voice Mode Works

Voice Mode lets you get professional coaching advice without uploading any video. Just describe the situation in your own words and the AI responds like a coach.

Perfect for questions like:

  • "My striker keeps leaning back when shooting" โ€” get technique corrections instantly
  • "My U12 team can't track runners off the ball" โ€” get specific drills to fix it this week
  • "What formation should I use against a team that presses high?" โ€” get tactical advice
  • "My pitcher is losing velocity in the 4th inning" โ€” get conditioning and mechanics advice
  • "How do I motivate a player who isn't trying in practice?" โ€” get coaching strategies

Select your sport and age group for the most relevant advice. You can speak your question or type it.

No video upload needed. No waiting. Just ask.

๐Ÿ“น How to Get a Veo Clip Link

  1. Open the Veo app or website at app.veo.co and log into your account.
  2. Find your match โ€” go to your matches list and tap the game you want to analyze.
  3. Trim your clip โ€” tap the scissors/edit icon to open the clip editor. Drag the handles to select the specific moment you want analyzed (30โ€“90 seconds works best).
  4. Save the clip โ€” tap Save or Create Clip. Give it a name if prompted.
  5. Share the clip โ€” tap the Share icon on your saved clip and copy the link.
  6. Paste it here โ€” come back to PlayBreakdown and paste the link into the Veo field.
๐Ÿ’ก Tip: The full game link will not work โ€” you need to trim and save a specific clip first. Clips under 2 minutes give the best analysis results. If you paste a full game link the analysis may not work correctly.

๐Ÿ† Getting Started โ–ถ
What is PlayBreakdown?
PlayBreakdown is an AI-powered coaching tool. Upload a game clip or training video and get instant professional coaching feedback โ€” tactical breakdowns, form corrections, practice drill plans, opponent scouting reports, and more. It works for 25 sports and is completely free.
Do I need to create an account?
No account needed. Just select your sport, upload your footage, and get your analysis. Your sport preference and language setting are remembered automatically.
Is it really free?
Yes โ€” completely free to use. The app is supported by ads. A premium ad-free version is coming soon.
How do I select my sport?
On the home screen, tap your sport from the grid. The app remembers your selection so you go straight to your sport next time. Tap โŸต Change Sport at any time to switch.
Can I add PlayBreakdown to my home screen?
Yes! On iPhone: tap the Share button in Safari, then tap Add to Home Screen. On Android: tap the menu (three dots) and select Add to Home Screen. It works just like a native app.
What languages are supported?
The app and AI responses are available in 8 languages: English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, and Korean. Use the language dropdown on the home screen or inside the app to switch.
๐Ÿ“ฑ Uploading Video โ–ถ
What video formats are supported?
Any video your phone can record โ€” MOV, MP4, HEVC, and more. Large files are automatically compressed before uploading so you don't need to worry about file size.
How long should my clip be?
30โ€“90 seconds gives the best results. Trim your clip to the specific play or moment you want analyzed before uploading. Clips over 2 minutes may not give as detailed an analysis.
The upload is taking a long time โ€” is that normal?
If your file is large (over 50MB) the app will compress it first, then upload. This can take 30โ€“60 seconds. You'll see the progress bar updating. Do not close the app while uploading.
Can I upload screenshots instead of video?
Yes โ€” tap Or upload screenshots instead below the video upload button. You can upload multiple images at once. This is useful when you have a photo of a play diagram or a game screenshot.
What angle should I film from?
For game film: any angle that captures the full play. For form analysis: side angle is best for most sports. Front angle works for stances and guard positions. Rear angle helps for arm path and throwing mechanics. Check the tip shown on your specific sport for guidance.
How do I use a Veo clip?
In the Game Film tab, scroll down to find the Veo section. Paste your Veo clip link there and tap Load Clip. Tap How to get a Veo clip link for step-by-step instructions on trimming and sharing a clip from the Veo app.
๐ŸŽฌ Game Film Analysis โ–ถ
What is a Defensive Breakdown?
Upload a clip where the opponent scored or had a big play against you. The AI identifies positioning errors, press trigger mistakes, communication failures, and shape collapse โ€” then gives specific corrections for each position involved.
What is a Missed Opportunity / Offensive Breakdown?
Upload a clip where your team failed to score or lost possession in a dangerous area. The AI identifies bad touches, wrong passes, poor timing, and lack of movement โ€” then gives concrete alternatives for what should have happened.
What is Opponent Scouting?
Upload a clip of your next opponent's game. The AI analyzes their formation, attacking patterns, defensive weaknesses, key players, and gives you a full tactical game plan for facing them.
What should I put in the Coach Notes box?
Add any context that helps the AI understand the situation โ€” formation, score, game situation, what you think went wrong, player positions. The more context you give, the more specific the analysis will be. Use the quick note templates for common situations.
How do I select the age group?
Use the Age Group selector below the upload area. This adjusts the coaching language โ€” U6-U8 gets simple encouraging feedback, while professional level gets full technical coaching with no sugarcoating.
๐Ÿƒ Form Analysis โ–ถ
How does Form Analysis work?
Select the specific skill you want analyzed from the dropdown, upload a clip of the athlete performing that skill, and get biomechanical feedback with precise body position corrections. The AI talks directly to the athlete.
What is Injury Risk Detection?
During form analysis the AI automatically scans for dangerous movement patterns โ€” things like knee stress, back compensation, incorrect landing mechanics, and hyperextension. If a risk is detected a warning flag appears at the top of the result.
How long should the form analysis clip be?
10โ€“30 seconds is ideal for form analysis. You want to capture the full movement cycle โ€” for example a full pitch delivery, a complete swing, or a full jump and landing. Multiple reps in one clip helps the AI identify consistent patterns.
๐Ÿ“‹ Analysis Results โ–ถ
How do I share my analysis?
Tap ๐Ÿ“ค Share This Analysis to share the full coaching breakdown. On mobile this opens your phone's share sheet so you can send via text, email, WhatsApp, or any app. On desktop it copies to clipboard.
How do I share with my whole team?
Tap ๐Ÿ‘ฅ Share With My Team for a pre-formatted team message that includes the analysis and a link to PlayBreakdown. On mobile it opens the share sheet โ€” on desktop it copies to clipboard ready to paste into your team chat.
What is the Practice Drill Plan?
After every analysis tap ๐Ÿ“‹ Generate Practice Drill Plan and the AI builds a complete 25-minute practice session targeting exactly what was found in the analysis โ€” with warm up, two main drills with setup instructions, and cool down.
What are the YouTube drill links?
After the analysis you'll see ๐Ÿ“บ Recommended Drill Videos with links that search YouTube for drills related to what was analyzed. Tap any link to open YouTube and find coaching videos for that specific skill.
How do I listen to the analysis instead of reading it?
Tap ๐Ÿ”Š Read Aloud at the top of the result and the AI coaching breakdown will be read to you. Useful for listening while driving to a game. Tap โน Stop to end playback.
How do I analyze another clip?
Tap โ†ฉ Analyze Another Clip at the bottom of the result screen. Or tap any tab at the top (Game Film, Form Analysis, etc.) to go back to the upload screen.
๐ŸŽค Voice Mode โ–ถ
What is Voice Mode?
Voice Mode lets you get professional coaching advice without uploading any video. Just describe a situation or ask a coaching question โ€” by speaking or typing โ€” and the AI responds with detailed actionable advice.
What kinds of questions can I ask?
Any coaching question. Examples: "My striker keeps leaning back when shooting" โ€” get technique corrections. "What drill should I run for a team that won't track runners?" โ€” get specific drills. "What formation works best against a high press?" โ€” get tactical advice.
Voice input isn't working โ€” what do I do?
Voice input requires Chrome or Safari on iOS. If it doesn't work on your browser just type your question in the text box instead โ€” it works exactly the same way.
๐ŸŸก Ref Check โ–ถ
What is Ref Check?
Ref Check lets you describe a referee decision and get an expert ruling on whether it was correct. The AI explains the exact rule, analyzes the call, and tells you what should have happened. Works for all 25 sports.
How do I get the best result from Ref Check?
Be as specific as possible. Include the sport, what happened, what call was made, and any relevant details. Example: "Soccer, U14 game. Player was in an offside position but did not touch the ball. Referee called offside. Was this correct?"
Can I use this to protest a referee decision officially?
The AI gives you an informed opinion based on the rulebook but it is not an official ruling. Use it to understand the rule better and have an informed conversation with officials or your league.
๐Ÿ‘ฅ My Players โ–ถ
How do I add a player?
Go to the My Players tab and type the player's name in the box, then tap + Add. You can add as many players as you want.
How do I save an analysis to a player?
After running an analysis, tap ๐Ÿ’พ Save to Player Profile in the results screen. Select the player from the dropdown and tap Save. The analysis is saved with the date, sport, and a preview of the coaching feedback.
Where is the player data stored?
Player profiles and analysis history are saved on your device. This means the data is private and only accessible on the device where it was saved. It will be cleared if you clear your browser data. A full cloud-based player tracking system with account login is coming in a future update.
How do I view a player's history?
Go to the My Players tab and tap any player card to expand it. You'll see all their saved analyses in reverse chronological order with the date, sport, and coaching preview.
โš™๏ธ Technical & Account โ–ถ
How accurate is the AI coaching?
PlayBreakdown is powered by Claude, one of the world's most advanced AI models, combined with sport-specific coaching expertise built into every analysis. It covers the same elements a professional coach would look for. It is a coaching tool โ€” not a replacement for a human coach โ€” but it is the next best thing when one isn't available.
How long does an analysis take?
Most analyses complete in 30โ€“60 seconds after the video finishes uploading. Video upload time depends on your internet connection and file size. Large files are compressed automatically to speed things up.
Is my video footage private?
Your videos are uploaded to Cloudinary for processing. Frames are extracted for AI analysis. Your footage is not shared with anyone and is not used for any other purpose.
The analysis failed โ€” what do I do?
Try again โ€” occasional failures can happen due to internet connectivity. If it keeps failing: check your internet connection, try a shorter clip, or try uploading screenshots instead of video. If the problem persists email us at support@playbreakdown.com.
How do I contact support?
